Our termite Control Process
Inspection
A free termite inspection is the first step in the termite control process. Not only do we want to identify any areas with termite damage that may need repair, but we also want to determine if termites caused the damage or if it was another wood-damaging pest or a combination of the two. We’ll perform a careful visual inspection of your home to look for any signs of termites or other pests. In some cases, we may also use Termitrac, a radar that allows us to see termites within your walls and measure moisture levels.
Treatment
We offer a couple of termite treatment methods. After performing our inspection, we’ll recommend which method of treatment we feel will yield the best results for your home. Our goal is not just to eliminate the termite activity currently occurring in your house but also to protect your home in the long-term from termites that might try to get inside.
The two types of treatment methods we use are the trench and treat method and bait systems. Our trench and treat method involves digging a shallow trench in the soil around the perimeter of your house and applying the product into the trench before filling it back in, producing a continuous barrier of protection around your home.
Our baiting system involves installing bait stations every 10-15 feet in the soil around your house. Termites prefer the bait to wood, and once a termite finds the bait, it will bring it back to the other members of the colony, eventually eliminating the entire colony.
Follow-Up
We offer a couple of different kinds of re-treat and repair warranties based on the service we perform at your home. To learn more about our warranty options, contact us.
Termite Pre-Treatments For New Home Builds
If you are preparing to build a new house, you may want to consider having it pre-treated for termites. We’ll protect it from the threat of a termite infestation before it is fully built. Termite pre-treatments give you peace of mind that your new home will remain termite-free for years to come.
Termite Letters For Home Sales
If you are in the process of buying a house, your lender may require that you file a Wood Destroying Insect Report with them. This report is written by a licensed professional after performing a detailed termite inspection. Prestige Pest Control offers this service. We’ll carefully inspect the house for any signs of damage due to wood destroying organisms, write up the required paperwork, and submit it to the appropriate parties.
