Our Bed Bug Control Process
Inspection
Identifying the presence of bed bugs must be done before performing a service. Bed bugs are good at hiding, and you can easily mistake other bugs with them. In order to deliver the right treatment method, we have to confirm that a bed bug infestation is present before we begin.
Treatment
Our three-part bed bug control service provides the thorough treatment you need to fully eliminate your bed bug infestation. The first step in the bed bug control treatment is a steam treatment. Bed bugs cannot withstand heat when it reaches a certain temperature, so the steam effectively kills all bed bugs it comes in contact with, whether they are adults, nymphs, or eggs. We’ll use the steam treatment on common hot spots, such as mattresses, furniture, couches, and more. We’ll also use it on any areas we identified as having bed bug activity during the inspection.
After the steam treatment, we’ll use a vacuum in all the same areas where we performed the steam treatment allowing us to remove the dead bed bugs, bed bug eggs, and live bed bugs that avoided the steam treatment.
The final step in our bed bug control treatment is the use of a biochemical product called Aprehend®. Aprehend® is a non-toxic biopesticide made up of a formulation of fungal spores. We will apply this product to areas of your home where bed bugs are likely to walk. Once bed bugs come in contact with the product, it will kill them within four to ten days.
Aprehend® works when the fungal spores germinate, then penetrate the cuticle of the bed bug and colonize inside, eventually resulting in death. This product will provide three months of protection from the time of treatment.
Follow-Up
Because bed bugs are clever and good at hiding, we warranty our bed bug control service for 90 days. If we miss any bed bugs during the initial treatment, we will return to your home to re-treat and take care of the problem. You can extend this warranty if you choose.
